Since the Modi government took charge in 2014, it has launched many public welfare and schemes aimed empowering low-income groups, facilitating easy loans for SMEs and providing adequate protection to the citizens. Some of the top schemes are:
- Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana - It was launched in Aug, 2014 to provide access to various financial services to the weaker sections of the society.
- MUDRA Bank Yojana - MUDRA yojana was launched to provide small-term credit of up to Rs.10 lakh to young entrepreneurs and SMEs
- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana - Under this scheme, anyone within the age of 18 to 70 can avail an accidental death cover of Rs.2 lakh at an annual premium of Rs.330.
- Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana - According to this scheme, every MP will take responsibility of developing at least three villages by 2019.
- Skill India Programme - It focuses on skill development among the youth and creating 500 million new jobs for them by 2020.
