Provident fund or PF is your savings which your employer makes on your behalf during the time you work with them. Now, with digitisation taking over you can easily withdraw your PF online when you need the funds.

In order to withdraw your PF online you need essentially your UAN or the Universal Account Number. This number is a unique set of digits which is generated by your employer when you work for them.

Here are the steps to withdraw your PF online -

Step 1 - Visit the UAN member portal. This is designed for UAN-based EPFO services that deals. It contains all details regarding your UAN number.
Step 2 - Once you are on the UAN website, log in with your existing UAN number and password. You will be able to reset the password in case you have forgotten. You receive a One-Time Password or OTP to authenticate. You then must enter the OTP and reset the password.
Step 3 - You must then check to ensure that the KYC status such as your Aadhaar is approved and linked to your UAN. You can go to – Manage – KYC to check the status. Once you have given your consent to the UIDAI to share your Aadhaar details with the EPFO then the authentication has ended the approval by the employer.
Step 4 - Go to the link – Online services in the UAN website dashboard which gives you more services. Submit your KYC details and change the nomination. It also lets you download the UAN Card and view the service history.
Step 5 - The next step is clicking on the Claim Form 31, 10C and 19.
Step 6 - The final step is the authentication of the Aadhaar card. You will then receive an OTP on your mobile number associated with your Aadhaar. After the submission of the OTP, you will be able to fill up the Employee Provident Fund withdrawal claim form. Once you fill and submit the form, a claim confirmation copy in the PDF format is given to you. This copy can be kept safely for future reference.
